Gyula Zilzer (Budapest 1898 - New York 1969), painter, printmaker, illustrator and graphic artist, who also worked in Hollywood as production and stage designer for movies. Many of his graphics from the early 1930s depict the horror of Hitler and his National Socialist Party in Germany. |

The material was permanently deposited in the National Library by the judge Ya'akov Bazak, executor of the estate of Zilzer's widow, Mary, in 2002. Additional materials, such as Zilzer's diaries, his correspondence with her wife Mary, his US citizenship certificate, his latest US passport and photographs of Naomi Pittel have extended Zilzer's Archive at the National Library as a generous donation of Elazar Benyoetz in October 2011. |
