Akibah Ernst Simon (1899-1988) was a Jewish educator, cofounder of Brit Shalom, co-editor of Der Jude, active in Free Jewish House of Learning in Berlin. He was close associate of Martin Buber and Franz Rosenzweig. He was a Zionist from 1918 and made Aliya in 1928. He returned to Center for Jewish Adult Education in Berlin 1934, then to Palestine in 1935. He was lecturer at Hebrew University (philosophy, history of education) from 1935, later head of School of Education and co-editor of correspondence of Buber and Rosenzweig. He was also co-founder of Leo Baeck Institute.
