Var. 14 Paper flyleaves contemporary to binding, some with watermarks. Very thin yellowish parchment. MS has been trimmed. Margins: 90, 38, 15, 22 mm. Ruling in brown ink. Occasionally seen bounding lines: 1, 2, 1 vert., in brown ink. Text space 101 x 68 mm. 2 col., 44 lines, written in dark brown ink, set below top line, one hand. 17-18 cen. marginal additions. Foliation is occasional, modern, in grey pencil, in the right upper corner. Collation: impractical. Quire signatures: a, b, c etc. Decoration: MS has been illuminated at the atelier of Johannes Grusch. Full page initial I(n) with creation scenes on f. 3v. Numerous historiated initials. 2-3 line blue and red initials with alternatively red and blue penwork, red and blue running titles, chapter numbers, red rubrics. Red signe-de-renvoi, capitals touched by red. Binding: 153 x 115 mm. 17th-18th cen. brown leather with gilt in gold decorative and geometrical ornament over cardboards. Cloth ties. |

At the bottom of f. 502r appears an inscription saying that this MS has been donated by William Hedge, vicar, in 1529. At the front pastedown appears written in grey pencil number 70, then: W. MS. ix*, below appears a paper label with number 30. |
