Biography of a Jew born in 1931 in Briceni, Bessarabia (now in Moldova); pp. 29-42 describe her experiences in the Holocaust. In fall 1941 she and her family were sent on a death march to Transnistria, during which her father was taken by the Germans and did not return. In 1942 her mother was also killed, and Sirota remained with one sister. In 1943 the two sisters escaped and fled to the forest, where they joined Jewish partisans. In February 1944 they were included in a group of 2,000 Jewish orphans from Transnistria who were allowed to travel to Romania and then emigrate to Eretz Israel, where they arrived in July 1944.
