הסדרה כוללת תצלומים שונים, מרביתם בשחור-לבן, של מבני הספרייה ברחבי ירושלים, עובדים וקוראים בספרייה, תצלומים מביקורים רשמיים ושל אירועים שנערכו בין כתלי הספרייה מאז ראשית המאה העשרים ועד לראשית המאה העשרים ואחת. כל התצלומים נוצרו במסגרת פעילותו של בית הספרים הלאומי והאוניברסיטאי - הספרייה הלאומית - ומקורם בהנהלת הספרייה. כל התצלומים היו רשומים בעבר תחת הסימול "תיק 215" בארכיון בית הספרים הלאומי.
