The National Library APIs provide a way to search for, and retrieve information - including simple and easy retrieval of digital copies (images, video and audio) by streaming directly to the end user. The APIs are compliant with international standards for open data.
Want to enrich your app with some Israeli heritage? Feel like adding a little spice to what you do with relevant images from the past? Need some video or audio? Maybe you even have an app that deals with Jewish heritage or Israeli tourism and you could really use some free content?

Sign up for an API key to access and use web services available on the National Library of Israel network.
The Search API provides a way to search the National Library of Israel collections. It returns metadata relating to media, digital and non-digital objects, by searching and filtering results.
The IIIF Presentation API gets metadata to describe a digital object that may contain hundreds of images. The URI specifies the RecordId of the digital object. The user and the viewer software can then successfully navigate the object.
The IIIF Image is a RESTFul API that returns an image in response to a standard HTTP request. The URI can specify the region, size, rotation, quality characteristics and format of the requested image.
