תשובה בעקבות פניית רבני מנטובה, מרדכי הלוי מרטארא ושלמה נסים בעניין שמירת שני ימים טובים בגלות. רבני מנטובה פנו לרבני ערים אחרות באיטליה במכתב חוזר מודפס בשנת תרי"ד וביקשו חוות דעתם על הנושא. שמואל נסים כתב את תשובתו בשתי טיוטות (קצרה וארוכה) "ביום החודש הראשון באחד לחדש ... ל'ד'ר'ת'י' ..." [=תרי"ד]. נושא נוסף: יום טוב שני של גלויות נושא נוסף: הלכה. שאלות ותשובות A responsum to the Rabbis of Mantua, Mordekhay ha-Levi Mortara and Shelomoh Nissim, regarding observance of Yom Tov Sheni (second festival day) in the diaspora. The Rabbis of Mantua distributed a printed circular to Rabbis of other cities in the year תרי"ד (in 1853/4) asking for their opinion on this subject. Shmu'el Nissim's responsum was written in two drafts (a brief one and a long one) "in the 1st day of the month [...] of ד'ר'ת'י [of 1853/4]".
